New York woman bit by fox with rabies

Watch here:

(CAMDEN, N.Y.) – A woman in upstate New York got quite the surprise this past week.

She came home and was attacked by a rabid fox that later tested positive for rabies.

Surveillance video shows the fox latching onto Brooke Robinson’s leg as she fought it off.

The confrontation continued until Robinson was able to get inside the home where she realized she had been bitten.

Rabies bites have a 100 percent mortality rate and Robinson drove herself straight to the hospital where she received life-saving care.

Robinson is recovering and hoping to raise awareness about rabies treatment.

She emphasized that anyone who is bit by an animal that possibly has rabies, should immediately seek medical care.
