North Decatur hosts regional drone competition on Saturday

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Students from multiple states participated in a drone competition at North Decatur High School on Saturday.
It was organized by North Decatur manufacturing instructor Megan Schildknecht as well as retired elementary science teacher Dave Sell.
Middle school and high school students participated in various challenges. They were tested on their ability to fly drones both piloted and autonomously, their coding skills and practicing teamwork with students from other schools.
Other schools involved included Perry Central High School in Hazard, Kentucky, as well some high schools from the Dayton, Ohio area.
Organizers say they plan to hold another drone competition at North Decatur in the future.
