(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Students from two rival schools are joining forces in an effort to save lives.
North Decatur and South Decatur students will host a blood drive at the Decatur County Fairgrounds from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, July 17.
This was organized by North Decatur teacher Betsy Litmer and South Decatur teacher Betty Johanningman.
“This is the first time we’ve collaborated on a drive together and we’re super excited about it. We began planning this past spring with Versiti Blood Center,” said Litmer.
Their goal is to reach 24 units of donated blood on Friday. You can register by clicking this link.
North Decatur Student Council President Aiden Luttel has been an instrumental part of organizing the event, Litmer added.
North has also held other blood drives which have been in honor of graduate Noah Hughes who passed away in 2024.
