(NORTH VERNON, Ind.) – A North Vernon man died after his pickup truck went into Crosley Lake in Jennings County on Thursday night.
DNR officials say 20-year-old Christopher Allman was attempting to back his truck down a boat ramp.
The truck entered the water and traveled about 100 feet from the ramp, authorities said.
Allman and a passenger in the truck attempted to swim back to shore.
“The passenger reached safety, but Allman went under and did not resurface,” a DNR official said.
Allman’s body was recovered by Indiana Conservation Officers and the incident remains under investigation.
