(CORTLAND, Ind.) – The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado touchdown in Jackson County on Monday night.
Preliminary reports indicate an EF-1 tornado touched down in the Cortland area, which is just west of Seymour.
The tornado had wind speeds reaching 105 miles-per-hour and was on the ground for more than two miles.
NWS officials say at least three barns had significant damage as well as a home near County Road 900 North and County Road 925 North.
There were additional structures that had damage including the roof of a building at Rose Acre Farms, officials said.
Other damage included downed trees, power lines and transmission lines, which led to several road closures.
Yesterday's storms also spawned two other tornadoes in Mooresville, which is southwest of Indianapolis.
There were also some Tornado Warnings in Rush County and in Butlerville last night as well.
