(OLDENBURG, Ind.) – Oldenburg has sworn in a new town council member.
Tyler Kerker is a 2011 Batesville High School graduate and a 2015 graduate of Indiana University.
He left Oldenburg and lived in Atlanta for three years prior to returning home. Kerker recently graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a law degree.
Kerker has been involved in government both in high school and also served on a campaign for Senator Joe Donnelly.
He was sworn-in on Monday to the Oldenburg Town Council after being appointed to fill the seat vacated by Dennis Moeller.
“I love Oldenburg. I’ve lived on Main Street in Oldenburg my entire life, I’ve smelled the chicken my entire life and seen the festivals that have been put on,” he said. “I love this town and I came back to it for a reason."
Kerker will serve in the role until at least 2027.
