(ST. LEON, Ind.) – Sandy Mahoney own In Motion Sports Photography and can often be found at East Central sporting events.
She not only photographs current student-athletes but also travels to colleges and universities to catch up with former Trojans who are playing collegiately.
Mahoney sat down with Cedarville University Sophie Browndyke on Monday.
Browndyke not only excelled on the soccer field in high school as she was also the kicker for the Trojans football team.
She has received numerous awards at Cedarville including being named the college’s Female Athlete of the Year in 2024.
One memorable moment from this past season is when Browndyke accidentally kicked the ball and caused a concussion.
“Ferris State was pressing our back line aggressively and for us to secure the win, long clearances were a must. With moments left in the game, I set up to clear a ball and a target came flying in, ending up with the cleared ball to her head. Not intentional, but a hard hit to the head caused for some medical attention. She recovered from a concussion and was playing a few weeks later," Browndyke recalled.
