One dead in Jennings County house fire on Sunday

(COUNTRY SQUIRE LAKES, Ind.) – A person was found dead after a house fire in Jennings County on Sunday afternoon. 

It happened in the area of Honeylocust Place in Country Squire Lakes. 

Jennings County deputies confirmed that a man was found dead inside the home and his identity has not yet been released. 

Officials added that it is an ongoing investigation but there is no threat to the public. 

Agencies that responded included Scipio-Geneva Township Volunteer Fire Department, North Vernon Fire Department, Lovett Township Volunteer Fire Department, Campbell Township Fire Department, Spencer Township Volunteer Fire Department, Vernon Township Volunteer Fire Department, Jennings County EMS, Jennings County Central Dispatch and the IDHS Fire Marshall's Office and Indiana Red Cross.
