One killed, another seriously hurt after crash near North Vernon

Happened on Thursday morning

(NORTH VERNON, Ind.) – One man was killed and another seriously injured after a crash near North Vernon on Thursday morning.
The collision happened around 7:30 a.m. on U.S 50 near Private Road 125 East.
54-year-old William Rabe Jr., of North Vernon, was driving west when his vehicle crossed the centerline and crashed head-on with another vehicle, according to the Indiana State Police.
Rabe passed away as a result of the crash.
36-year-old Daniel Plumm, of North Vernon, was the driver of the other vehicle and he was flown to an Indianapolis hospital for treatment. His current condition is not known.
Authorities do not believe alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash as the investigation continues.
ISP Troopers were assisted by Jennings County Sheriff’s Department, North Vernon Police and Fire, Jennings County EMS and the Jennings County Coroner’s Office.
