(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – The Lawrenceburg Police Department hosted their annual fishing event on Saturday.
Kids and families braved the heat as they enjoyed fishing, free food and prizes at Ludlow Hill Park. The event also included the Lawrenceburg Fire Department.
As part of the prizes, some kids even left the event with free bicycles!
“I think we’re really fortunate as a community that we have the funds with our Mayor and City Council to support things like this. This really makes a connection between the police department and community members and keeps our town safer,” said Lawrenceburg Police Officer Troy Cochran.
Cochran added that this event also serves as a way to bring more community members to Ludlow Hill Park.
"If you could see all the equipment and maintenance that goes into these parks, the city crews and what they do to keep these parks operational, we are just very fortunate in Lawrenceburg to have all these amenities," he said.
