Photos: Tanglewood Baptist Fund donates $50K to 11 local organizations

The fund was established in 2024

(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – A Ripley County church who launched a grant program to help local organizations is making a major difference in the community.


The Tanglewood Baptist Church Legacy Fund was created in 2024 with the mission of assisting nonprofit organizations who are dedicated to community improvement projects that range from education to environment. 


In 2024, the fund was in its first year and distributed $15,700 to six nonprofits organizations.


Tanglewood Baptist Fund greatly expanded their generosity this year by granting a total of $50,000 to 11 local organizations!


Here are the recipients of the 2025 Tanglewood Baptist Church Legacy Fund:


  • Batesville Memorial Public Library: Funding for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, which serves Ripley County children.


  • Main Street Versailles: Matching funds for biking and pedestrian paths to connect Versailles, Osgood, and Versailles State Park.\


  • Milan Cares Central Program: Funding for a summer camp serving 65 youth in the Milan school district.


  • One Community One Family: Support for bringing the One Community One Family and INcompass initiatives to Ripley County.


  • Ripley County Historical Society: Funding for Wreaths Ripley County, which aims to place wreaths on veterans' graves in Cliff Hill Cemetery.


  • So Loved Closet: Assistance in meeting the demand for essential items for children in Ripley County.


  • Tanglewood Baptist Church Cemetery Association: Maintenance and upkeep of the Tanglewood Baptist Church building.


  • Totes for Tots and Teens: Provision of necessary personal items for children in foster care, along with backpacks and school supplies.


  • Tyson Methodist Church Back Door Friends of Faith: Support for providing personal care items to needy families in the South Ripley and Jac-Cen-Del school districts.


  • Versailles American Legion: Assistance for families in the South Ripley school district with items, food, and gift cards during Christmas.


  • Child Evangelism Fellowship: Funding to help reach children with the gospel.

The Tanglewood Baptist Legacy Fund is dedicated to establishing a grant-based fund that utilizes existing resources to support local projects, events, and organizations that reflect our Christian values.


"We believe that with generous, tax-deductible donations, the Legacy Fund can continue to thrive and expand its impact for many years to come," said Tanglewood Baptist Legacy Fund President Tom Finney.
