Player with local ties in Little League World Series today

(WILLIAMSPORTS, PA.) – A player with ties to Southeast Indiana will compete in the Little League World Series on Saturday. 

12-year-old Hudson Vonderheide is an outfielder for Hamilton West Side Little League from Ohio who represents the Great Lakes. He wears #6. 

Ohio beat a team from Iowa on Thursday to advance to the U.S. championship game.

They will play Nevada, who beat them earlier this month, in the title game at 3:30 p.m. on ABC.

Hudson’s parents are JD and Andrea Vonderheide. 

JD is from Batesville and was a standout football player for the Bulldogs before transferring to East Central. He played college football at Miami University and was the backup quarterback to Ben Roethlisberger. 

Hudson's mom is also a Hall-of-Fame soccer player for Miami University.
