Police search for suspect after 2 Beech Grove officers shot

(BEECH GROVE, Ind.) – Authorities are searching for a man after two Beech Grove police officers were shot on Monday night. 


The officers were shot after responding to a call near Beech Grove High School shortly before 6 p.m. 


The City of Beech Grove has announced that police officer Brian Elliott, 33, succumbed to his injuries. The condition of the other officer is not known.


A manhunt is underway for 47-year-old Kenneth Johnson who has been identified as a suspect. 


Johnson is described as 6-foot tall, 165 pounds and was last seen wearing a blue shirt and blue pants. He is believed to be armed and dangerous.
