(JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind.) – Authorities in Southern Indiana want parents to be aware of a dangerous “Tik Tok Challenge”.
Teenagers will approach random homes and attempt to break-in by kicking the door open and while being armed with an airsoft gun.
For those unfamiliar, an airsoft gun is a replica firearm that shoots small non-lethal plastic BBs.
Police say outcomes vary between the juveniles entering the home and shooting the airsoft gun before running away. Or they are unable to get in and will stand at the side of the home and shoot the airsoft weapon at the victim when they exit the home.
“This trend presents an extreme danger to everyone involved. Parents, please take this opportunity to speak with your children about the dangers of partaking in activities like this,” the Jeffersonville Police Department said.
