Police: Woman was twice the legal limit when she crashed

(NORTH VERNON, Ind.) – A woman is accused of driving twice the legal limit and crashing in North Vernon.
The incident happened in the area of US 50 and County Road 150 North on Thursday.
Police say the woman crashed into a ditch and had shown signs of impairment.
A portable breath test indicated that she had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.161, police said.
Autumn Baber was arrested on charges related to Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated.
“Driving while intoxicated puts everyone on the roadway at risk. This incident is a reminder that impaired driving continues to be a serious threat to public safety, and we will continue to take enforcement action to keep our community safe,” North Vernon Police Chief Keith Messer said.
