(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Purdue University’s School of Ag and Vet Medicine spent the day at three local businesses on Tuesday.
The trip was an effort to learn about agricultural businesses in other parts of the state.
The group first stopped at Hulsbosch Dairy Farm in Letts where they heard about the farm's commitment to herd health, milk quality and sustainable dairy production.
They also stopped by Lowe’s Pellets and Grain in Greensburg where they got a behind-the-scenes look at how feed is produced to fuel healthy, productive livestock.
The final stop was at Jackman’s Animal Clinic in Milroy. The tour gave insight into the large-animal services and haul-in facility, which is designed to safely and efficiently treat livestock and equine patients on site.
“From the dairy parlor to the feed mill, to a state-of-the-art large-animal clinic, today’s visits reminded us of the critical connections that keep Indiana’s agricultural and veterinary communities strong,” said Julia Wickard with Purdue’s College of Veterinary Medicine.
