Rising Sun Foundation awards $255K to 12 organizations

(RISING SUN, Ind.) – The Rising Sun Regional Foundation is awarding $255,900 to 12 different organizations.
The quarterly grants are funded by Rising Star Casino and are available for organizations in Ohio County, Ripley County, and the cities of Aurora and Batesville.
These grants included:
● City of Aurora, $30,000 for Aurora Little League field improvements;
● City of Batesville, $10,000 for Batesville Skatepark improvements;
● Batesville Memorial Public Library, $10,000 for signage;
● Heart House, $35,000 for emergency walk-in cooler and freezer;
● Hillforest, $1,400 for kitchen remodeling;
● Ohio County Rescue Services, $20,000 for portable radio upgrades;
● Ripley County Government, $40,000 for courthouse clock repair;
● Rising Sun Municipal Utilities, $20,000 for smart electric meters;
● Rising Sun Ohio County Community Schools, $35,000 for refrigerators and freezers; ● Rising Sun Volunteer Fire Department, $30,000 for SCBA units;
● Southeastern Indiana YMCA, $10,000 for summer camp relocation; and, ● Versailles Volunteer Fire Department, $14,500 for firetruck lighting.
Applications for the first grant cycle of 2026 must be submitted by Thursday, January 15.
