Several cross country runners qualify for IHSAA State Championship

(SHELBYVILLE, Ind.) – Several local cross country athletes advanced to the IHSAA State Finals as individual runners on Saturday.
East Central senior Callie Bentley earned her fourth straight trip to state after finishing 9th overall out of 243 runners in Shelbyville.
During the same race, Batesville freshman Ava Wade finished 4th to earn her first individual trip to state.
Greensburg is sending two athletes to state as freshman Eleanor Davis finished 10th overall during the Evansville regional. She will join Greensburg senior Joe Hawkins who also qualified on the boys side.
Jennings County freshman Adistyn Long finished 12th and earned her first trip to state as well.
The Cross Country state finals will take place in Terre Haute on Saturday, November 1.
