Two Decatur County farms recognized for 200 years

(INDIANAPOLIS) – Several local families are being recognized for their legacy of farming and commitment to agriculture.
There were 56 Indiana families who received the Hoosier Homestead Award from the State of Indiana on Friday.
Hoosier Homestead Farms are those who have been owned by the same family for more than a century.
The farms are recognized with either the Centennial Award for 100 years of ownership, Sesquicentennial Award for 150 years of ownership or the Bicentennial Award for 200 years of ownership.
Two farms in Decatur County, the Hamilton Batterton and theMcCoy family, were the only two in the entire state recognized with the Bicentennial Award.
