(WEST HARRISON, Ind.) – Evacuations and several water rescues took place in Dearborn County overnight.
All of the bridges along the Whitewater River are closed on Friday morning.
“You will need to use Stateline to 50, the river and surrounding bodies of water are still rising,” said the Bright Fire Department.
Roads that are closed include Longnecker, Pinhook, Cranes Run, Barber, Bonnie Lane, Herberts Lane, Cobblestone Court, Stonefields Lane Loia Creek Lane, Bond Road and Harrison Brookville between McQueen and Dair Avenue.
“Please do not drive around barricades or into flooded roadways,” Dearborn County EMA director Jason Sullivan said.
Dearborn County EMA officials will conduct damage assessment surveys once it is safe to do so.
Anyone that received storm damage is asked to call Dearborn County Emergency Management at (812) 537-3971 Option 2. You can also e-mail reports to EMA@dearborncounty.in.gov.
