(AURORA, Ind.) — A South Dearborn senior will have the opportunity to perform on one of the world’s most iconic stages this weekend.
Maddison Burress was selected for the Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
It’s an audition-based program that selects top performing high school musicians from around the globe. She was nominated for the prestigious event by former choir teacher Justin Selmeyer
Burress will arrive in NYC today and will take part in rehearsals everyday leading up to her performance at Carnegie Hall on Sunday. She will perform six different pieces of music with a group of Soprano singers.
She will also have the chance to rehearse with renowned conductors, and will spend her free time touring the city and visiting Broadway shows.
Burress and South Dearborn's Opening Knight & the Overtones were spotlighted on The 812 last year and you can watch that story by clicking here.
