(TIFFIN, OH.) – A South Dearborn senior who has excelled in singing competitions recently earned a rare scholarship.
17-year-old Maddison Burress spent the past week at the Show Choirs Camp of America at Heidelberg University in Ohio.
She was with more than 700 other students for the singing and dancing camp, where she had the opportunity to improve her choreography and vocal skills.
Burress tried out for a talent show at the camp and made the final cut of 22 students who competed for a $12,000 scholarship from Heidelberg.
Her performance led her to being one of eight performers to earn the coveted scholarship.
Maddison is a member of South Dearborn’s Opening Knight and Overtones Show Choir. Burress was featured on The 812 earlier this year which you can watch here.
She is also a cast member for the upcoming musical Big Fish in Lawrenceburg.
