(AURORA, Ind.) – A local high school soccer team has created a patriotic pregame tradition at their home games.
The South Dearborn Lady Knights had a road game at Jennings County in August.
Jennings County’s sound system failed during the National Anthem and the South Dearborn team continued to sing it until the sound system started working again.
The technical error has now led to a season-long initiative for the Lady Knights.
The teammates now sing the National Anthem themselves before every home game!
“This is a great group of young women who have shown respect with this small gesture,” one parent said.
The video above is from South Dearborn’s last home game against Madison.
The Lady Knights will be back home, and performing the National Anthem themselves, on Saturday, September 13.
