(HOPE, Ind.) – A South Ripley graduate is preparing his team for another trip to the IHSAA Class 1A Semi-State.
Trent Moorhead graduated from South Ripley in 2014 and was named the Hauser head coach in 2022.
The Jets went to Semi-State last year where they suffered a heartbreaking 69-67 loss to the eventual state champion Orleans.
The team has bounced back this season with a 25-2 record and cruised past South Decatur during the Regional round at Seymour on Saturday.
On Sunday, Hauser drew Bloomfield as their first opponent during the IHSAA Semi-State Draw and the game will be played at The Hatchet House in Washington, Indiana.

The Moorhead family has a deep connection to high school basketball in the area.
Trent’s grandfather, Gus, played at Hanover College before coaching Versailles High School and South Ripley where he compiled a 253-177 record in 17 seasons.
Rob Moorhead, who serves as South Ripley’s superintendent, coached for 11 years at South Dearborn and led the Knights to a sectional title in 1995.
Trent’s brother, Brad, currently serves as the head basketball coach at South Dearborn.
