South Ripley Junior High students present STEM projects to community

Students share STEM projects during event

(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – South Ripley Junior High School recently hosted their first-ever STEM Showcase last week.

Students presented projects throughout the school year in science, technology, engineering, and math.

The public event featured over 30 student projects as staff members were on hand to answer questions or provide further explanations.

Eighth grader Madison Pollard said, “I really enjoyed the STEM Showcase! I thought it was really fun and innovative! I enjoyed showing off our hard work to the community! I loved seeing people and socializing with others. I thought that the event turned out great!”

Seventh grader Noah Begley added, “It was a great experience to show everyone in our county what I have done and what we have all done in school this year. I really liked it. It was fun!”

The STEM Showcase also featured one of South Ripley Junior High’s community partners, Southeastern Indiana REMC. REMC representatives brought a bucket truck, the fiber trailer, and a Tesla for the attendees to view up close.

Several local food trucks were also at the event.
