(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – The annual Special Olympics Fire Truck Pull will take place in Lawrenceburg on Saturday.
The fundraiser is in partnership with the Lawrenceburg Fire Department and teams compete by pulling, or attempting to pull, a 50,000-pound fire truck.
It’s described as the ultimate tug-of-war challenge and it is a great time whether you are competing or just there to watch.
Teams of 10 or less raise a minimum of $750 in pledges to see who can pull the 25-ton firetruck in the shortest amount of time.
“The team doing so will not only get bragging rights, but will also receive the Fastest Pull Challenge trophy. After the Fastest Pull Challenge teams will then compete in the Lowest Combined Weight Pull,” organizers said.
This event also features the kiddie pull and concessions. Opening ceremonies are at 1:30 p.m.. with the Fire Truck Pull taking place around 2:15 p.m.
