NWS officials increased likelihood of severe weather to 4/5

(SOUTHEAST INDIANA) – Forecasters are urging residents to be prepared for severe weather on Wednesday night.
Chad Gutzwiller with Weather Wave is also encouraging locals to be at home or in a safe place by 7 p.m.
Earlier today, the National Weather Service listed Southeast Indiana as having a 4/5 chance for severe weather this evening.
The main threats are damaging winds that could reach upwards of 50 to 70 miles per hour.
There is also a threat for possible tornadoes across the region along with hail, heavy rain and flooding.
Rain will continue through the weekend which will likely lead to flooding.
Several local businesses and organizations have announced early closures this evening due to the storms.
