(DILLSBORO, Ind.) – South Dearborn Superintendent Dr. Ron Ross is dispelling an unfounded rumor regarding a school closure.
Dr. Ross said two individuals began circulating an online rumor that South Dearborn plans to close Dillsboro Elementary.
He confirmed in a statement today that the district has no plans to close the school.
“It’s disheartening that misinformation of this nature can spread so quickly and cause unnecessary fear and disruption among our families and staff,” Ross said.
“This rumor appears to have stemmed from communication regarding our upcoming community meeting about the district’s strategic plan — a meeting intentionally designed to invite input and encourage open dialogue about how we can strengthen our schools,” he added.
Ross also said that the goal of the school district is to offer transparency and collaboration.
