(VEVAY, Ind.) – The Town of Vevay has completed work of building a new fountain and adding signage at the John F. Brown Park.
The original fountain was built in 1920 but after more than a century of water, weather and wear-and-tear, there was so much damage to it that the fountain had to be replaced.
“While it is difficult to say goodbye to something that has been part of our town for so long, we are grateful for the memories it has given our community over the years,” the Town of Vevay stated in May.
That historic fountain had served as a gathering place and was also a backdrop to countless memories and photos.
Town officials worked hard to build the new fountain which also includes flowers and landscaping. They unveiled their new sign on Thursday.
