Two local wrestlers advance in IHSAA Wrestling State Tournament

Switzerland County and Columbus North wrestler

(INDIANAPOLIS) – Two local wrestlers remain in contention for an IHSAA state championship.
Seven local wrestlers had qualified for the wrestling state championship which began on Friday.
East Central sophomores Jaxsin Prater and Brady Wingate, Milan’s Kaleb Winburn, and Franklin County’s Colin Troyer and Cole Freese were all knocked out of contention on Friday.
Switzerland County’s Peyton Richards has advanced in the 138 pound weight class.
Greensburg native Justice Thornton who attends Columbus North also advanced in the 138 pound weight class.
The IHSAA Wrestling State Championship continues at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Saturday.
