(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – Batesville Middle School principal Dave Strouse is leaving Batesville for a statewide role.
Strouse has been named the Assistant Executive Director of the Indiana Association of School Principals (IASP).
He has been with Batesville Schools for the past 13 years and was named Indiana State Middle School Principal of the Year in 2017.
Strouse served as IASP president in 2017 and recently was the state coordinator for the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
Strouse says it has been an honor to serve the students, families, staff and community of Batesville.
“I am grateful for the relationships and experiences that have shaped me both personally and professionally, and I know Batesville Community Schools will continue to thrive because of the outstanding people who make this district so special,” Strouse said.
He will begin the new role in July and said that he and his family will continue to live in Batesville.
Superintendent Katy Eastes congratulated Strouse on the new role and said he will be missed.
“We have been blessed to have him as our middle school principal for many years. He embraced the role with his whole heart, cultivating hundreds of our Bulldogs over these years and preparing them for the high school experience,” Eastes said.
IASP is a non-profit association that is dedicated to the growth and advocacy of school leaders. It serves over 3,4000 administrators statewide.
