Statement from Duke Energy below

(INDIANAPOLIS) – The union representing Duke Energy workers in Indiana is threatening a possible strike due to stalled contract negotiations.
IBEW Local 1393 announced Friday that nearly 1,000 of their members are preparing for an imminent work stoppage, claiming that Duke Energy has refused to agree to a fair labor contract after the previous agreement expired on May 1.
The union says their employees have been working under good faith while Duke Energy has rejected “multiple reasonable proposals” from the Union.
Local 1393 cited wage increases and rising health insurance costs as key issues.
"Duke Energy has continually boasted about its record profits, even citing its CEO, Harry Sideris, who noted a 22% increase in earnings in the first quarter of this year compared to last," said Christopher T. Wilson, Business Manager and Financial Secretary of Local 1393.
"These profits are made possible by the hard work and sacrifice of our members- -yet Duke refuses to provide fair wages or adequate benefits. Meanwhile, customers face another rate hike," he added.
The workers involved are responsible for maintaining and operating Duke Energy's electrical infrastructure, including generation plants that provide power to communities across the region, the union added.
Duke Energy released a statement which reads:
“The work of our International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1393 (IBEW) represented employees is highly valued to the company, our customers, and the communities we serve. Our goal during negotiations is to achieve a mutually favorable labor agreement with the IBEW that provides fair compensation, competitive benefits, and a safe work environment.”
