Versailles man accused of distributing illicit child material

(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – A cyber tip led to the arrest of a Versailles man for allegedly distributing child sexual abuse material.

The Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force started an investigation after learning that there were illicit photos or videos associated with an internet account.

ICAC detectives immediately began working to identify the owner of the account and to confirm that the media was child sexual abuse material,” said ISP Sgt. Stephen Wheeles.

Authorities identified the suspect as 49-year-old Lindsey English, Jr. and police served a search warrant at a home on Gaslight Drive in Versailles on August 5.

English Jr. was arrested and charged with Distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Material, which is a Level 3 Felony.

This was the second child material-related arrest made by local state troopers last week. A Batesville man was arrested on August 4 and you can read that story here.

The Indiana ICAC Task Force encourages citizens to report online exploitation, solicitation, and enticement-type crimes against children to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children by clicking this link.
