Volunteer firefighters rescue driver after crash in Versailles Friday

(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – Volunteer firefighters rescued a person after a vehicle left the roadway in Versailles on Friday afternoon.
Firefighters and police were dispatched around 4:40 p.m. to Gaslight Drive, which is a dead-end road off of U.S. 50 in Versailles.
First responders found a jeep that had gone over a steep embankment and ended up in a ditch.
Versailles firefighters helped rescue the driver and got them to safety. The current condition of the driver is not known.
The Versailles Volunteer Fire Department was on scene with Ripley County EMS and Ripley County Sheriff's Office for more than an hour.
