(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – Napoleon State Bank is recognizing a Batesville educator as Teacher of the Month for December.
Katie Hunter is a third-grade special education teacher at Batesville Intermediate School and has been in the role for about six years.
Hunter was nominated because she plays a critical role in supporting students with diverse and complex needs.
“She is instrumental in the transition of students from the primary building to the intermediate school, working collaboratively with teachers and support staff in both buildings to ensure continuity of services and a seamless support system,” said Batesville Intermediate Principal Dana Cassidy.
Hunter says she was inspired to go into special education to serve as an advocate for students who may not have a voice.
Napoleon State Bank and The 812 recognize a teacher each month in the Ripley and Decatur County area. You can nominate a teacher by emailing news@812now.com
