(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – A local woman was aircared to the hospital after a motorcycle crash in Ripley County on Thursday night.
The accident happened around 8 p.m. in the area of West Millhousen and County Line Road near Napoleon.
Deputies say the motorcycle was driven by 29-year-old Trace Elliott Harmon, of Westport.
22-year-old Hannah Brandenburg, of Sunman and Greensburg, was a passenger on the bike and was aircared to a Cincinnati hospital.
Ripley County Deputy Justin Linkel claimed that he detected the odor of alcohol emitting from Harmon.
“Harmon later advised Deputy Linkel that he had consumed alcohol earlier in the night,” the sheriff’s office said.
Harmon was later booked into the Ripley County Jail on preliminary charges of OWI Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury with Prior Conviction, OWI Endangering and OWI.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by Napoleon Fire, Kentucky AirCare, Ripley County EMS, Ripley County Communications, and Buckley’s Service Center.
