Woman arrested after road-rage incident involving gun near South Ripley

Happened around the time of dismissal

(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – A 29-year-old woman was arrested after a road-rage domestic incident near South Ripley Schools on Monday afternoon.
Around 2:30 p.m., deputies were called to South Benham Road near the intersection of East County Road 300 South.
Deputies say Mercedes Boyd, of Boggstown, fired at least one shot from a handgun toward the direction of the other vehicle.
The operator of the other vehicle is believed to be an ex-boyfriend, police added.
Boyd was arrested for Criminal Recklessness with a Firearm, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Paraphernalia.
With the incident happening near South Ripley and around the time of dismissal, the school corporation provided a mass alert to the parents and emphasized it was not school related.
