Wreaths Across Ripley County is largest WAA partner in Indiana

Placed more than 4,700 wreaths in December

(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – Wreaths Across Ripley County is being recognized as one of the top groups by the nationwide nonprofit.

Wreaths Across America is a program each December where wreaths are placed at the graves of military veterans.

The local program was organized through the Ripley County Community Foundation a few years ago, with assistance from Owen Menchhofer and other volunteers.

There were more 4,761 wreaths placed at veteran’s graves in Ripley County this past year, making it the largest Wreaths Across America partner in Indiana.

“Wreaths Across Ripley County is truly a community effort and we would like to thank the community, dedicated volunteers, generous sponsors, essential truck drivers, area officials, and members of the media for coming together in unity and supporting those who have protected our freedom and for making Wreaths Across Ripley County a success,” stated Amy Streator, Executive Director, Ripley County Community Foundation.

This year, Wreaths Across Ripley County is registered through the $5 pay back plan. Through it, for every $17 wreath sponsorship received, $5 will automatically be paid back to Ripley County to support the Remember, Honor, and Teach Endowment Fund. These dollars will give the Ripley County Community Foundation the resources needed to address community needs, today and forever.

To sponsor a wreath, visit the Ripley County Community Foundation’s website at www.rccfonline.org, or mail donations to 13 E. George Street, Suite B, Batesville, IN 47006.
