Young artist makes improvements to Brookville's Purple Heart Memorial

(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) – A young Brookville artist has made improvements to a veterans memorial.
20-year-old Hannah George was commissioned to make enhancements to a portion of the Purple Heart Memorial that is located in front of the Franklin County Government Center.
The memorial was dedicated on Veteran's Day 2007 and was established to honor those who have received or will receive the nation’s oldest military award.
The memorial has featured the monument along with in the brick pavers.
Previously, the purple heart had been plain until Hannah was assigned the project last weekend.
She sketched the profile of George Washington in the center of the heart and also added the gold-colored border.
“My grandpa is a veteran and it means a lot to support those who served in our community and to help them have something that they can be proud of,” George told The 812.

Hannah is a Franklin County graduate who has been involved in numerous art projects around the community.
She also became a children’s author earlier this year as she published “Frogbert’s Spring” which she crafted the story from her own childhood.
