(OLDENBURG, Ind.) – An Oldenburg couple is continuing their longtime October tradition.

Marla and Daron Werner transform a round bale into artwork and place it alongside State Road 229 every fall.

The first hay bale was painted like a pumpkin nearly 20 years ago and some previous designs have been a frog, bumble bee, scarecrow, bird, and Marla's personal favorite, Frankenstein.

All the decorations on the hay bales come from repurposed material Marla finds around the farm.

They designed two hay bales this year into a penguin!

It’s located on State Road 229 near Lamping Road and it will be displayed through the month of October.

You can view some of their designs from previous years by clicking this link.
