(MILAN, Ind.) -- A local family had a unique experience at a youth football game this past weekend!
Jeremi Ison is the head coach for the 2nd grade Milan Youth Football team and his son, Kaiston is a member of the team.
Jeremi’s grandson, Asa Mayes, happens to be a member of the 2nd grade East Central team.
The two teams faced each other and Ison described the game as bittersweet.
“Because I knew it’d be a tough game against East Central, but at the same time I was rooting for my grandson to do well against us,” Jeremi said.
Kaiston and Asa lined up against each other several times and it certainly won’t be the last time, as they are both heavily involved in sports.

While their relationship is technically uncle and nephew, the two 8-year-olds were born just 16 days apart!
They are also very close to each other as the relationship is more like brothers.
“They talk every night on FaceTime and are often playing sports or video games together,” Ison said.
After the game, Ison took both boys to the Bengals game as part of their birthday presents!
