(OSGOOD, Ind.) – It’s been another successful start to the squirrel season for Lanny Cole!
The 82-year-old got his first squirrel in 1953 and has had a passion for hunting his entire life.
Cole knows the exact number of squirrels he’s harvested. He's kept a list in his wallet since he was a child that he updates after every hunt.
Last year, he and his three boys went squirrel hunting and he reached the milestone of 2,700.
On Friday, Lanny went hunting with the boys again and added three more squirrels to his lifetime total!
Indiana’s squirrel season is from August 15 to January 31 and hunters are allowed up to five squirrels per day.
