(MILAN, Ind.) – A Milan youth softball team was competing in a tournament in Manchester this past week.
They didn’t have a game on Friday so their coaches decided to host a community cookout.
The cookout also served as a fundraiser for the Walters family.
33-year-old Jordan Walters was a coach for the boys 8U team and he and his wife, Sierra, were killed while driving to a game last week.
Their two sons, who were also in the car, were briefly hospitalized. One of the kids plays on the Milan 8U team.
The community cookout was held at the Daren Baker Memorial Park and the softball team raised $1,800 for the Walters family!
A Go Fund Me for the Walters famimly is still open and you can access it by clicking here.
