Aurora resident announces bid for Indiana House District 68

He released a campaign video that you can watch here:

(AURORA, Ind.) – An Aurora resident has announced his bid for Indiana House District 68.

Hunter Collins is a labor organizer with Teamsters Local 89 and warehouse lead at Amazon Air. Collins says he has spent the past two years on the frontlines of the movement to build a union at Amazon.

“I’ve gone up against one of the largest corporations in the world for working class people, and now I’m here to bring that same fire and energy to Indianapolis,” Collins said.

He added that his campaign aims to bring common sense leadership to Indianapolis, with his platform focused on working-class issues such as lowering taxes, restoring infrastructure, and fully-funding public schools.

“Hoosiers deserve better than political theater and bending the knee to big money interests. I’m running for State Representative to bring real progress to District 68, to be a voice for hard working families, and to focus on the issues that actually matter,” he said.

He added, “We’re the campaign that is bringing fresh, new ideas on how to make life better for everyday Hoosiers. Instead of following a cookie-cutter platform given straight from party leaders, we have built a plan that puts the actual needs of the people at the forefront.”

A campaign kickoff event will be held at Proof 124 Table and Tavern on Wednesday, July 23rd at 6:00pm.

Collins and his wife, Haylee and they have one daughter.

The Indiana House District 68 seat is currently held by Rep. Garrett Bascom who was sworn-in to office in 2024.
