Authorities find no credible threat after suspicious reports in Bright

(BRIGHT, Ind.) – Dearborn County authorities have been investigating two suspicious persons reports in Bright. 

The incidents happened in the area of the Picnic Lawn Apartments on May 2 and May 6. 

While some may have been concerned about attempted child abductions, detectives say the investigation has revealed that there was nothing to indicate that.

“We have increased patrols in the area for extra precaution; however at this time we feel that there is no direct threat,” the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department stated. 

The sheriff’s office added that both incidents were investigated to the fullest extent. 

They encourage anyone who witnesses something suspicious to always contact 9-1-1 or dispatchers. 

“We appreciate the vigilance of the community for these incidents, and will take any future reports just as serious,” they added.
