Bald Eagle recovering after being shot in Denver suburb

(DENVER) – A bald eagle is recovering after being shot in Colorado.
Wildlife officials say the eagle was shot near the shoreline of Croke Reservoir in Northglenn on January 12.
The eagle suffered a wing injury after being struck by a ball bearing.
It underwent surgery and is now recovering at a rehabilitation facility.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife is investigating the shooting as the bald eagle is a federally protected species.
