"It feels good to donate my hair as I want other kids to feel normal"

(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – A Batesville third grader made a recent visit to the hair salon with the goal of making a difference for other kids.
9-year-old Kori Grills decided she wanted to donate some of her long, flowing hair to a good cause.
The family researched different options and discovered Children With Hair Loss, a Michigan-based nonprofit that provides hair replacements at no cost to children and young adults facing medically-related hair loss.
Her mother, Julia, said Kori was curious how much hair she would lose but found out it would only be to her shoulders.
The nonprofit has a minimum of 8 inches of hair that can be donated per person.
Kori had her hair appointment and said she feels good about helping sick children who have had to lose their hair.
“I donated my hair for people that have hair loss, I wanted to donate my hair so they would look normal like other people,” she said.
Kori says she plans to grow out her hair and do it again. Her twin sister, Kenzi, says she plans to donate her hair as well.
