Batesville Main Street opens grant for development of future restaurant and retail options

Applications accepted until August 8

(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – Batesville Main Street is continuing an initiative aimed at creating new retail and restaurant offerings in the downtown area.

The organization is now taking applications for the second round of the Re-Envision Grant.

The $15,000 matching grant is for qualifying property owners and tenants within the Batesville Main Street district to activate unused or underutilized spaces within their existing building, with the intent to make the space available for new retail, restaurant, food service, or a specialty shop.

It is also available to financially support projects for permanent interior improvements to existing retail, restaurant, food service or specialty shops aimed to enhance the consumer experience.

“This grant is in  its 3rd year and has been able to fund some great projects. We hope that releasing a Round 2 to the popular grant will capture those businesses that were not ready to apply in Round 1 at the beginning of the year and look forward to an increase in the vitality of downtown,” said Batesville Main Street executive director Amy Pretzer.

Funds can be used to renovate or modify interior spaces of a building, prepare a space for lease to a retail, food service or specialty shop, or make permanent improvements to existing retail, food service or specialty shops.

Batesville Main Street is accepting applications for the Re-Envision Grant with final applications due on August 8.
