(BRIGHT, Ind. ) -- The Bright Fire Chief is calling for more staffing in the fire industry following a fire on Saturday night.
Firefighters responded to a structure fire on Skyview Circle in Hidden Valley.
Crews dealt with heavy fire and heavy smoke, while also not having fire hydrants on the road.
"Unfortunately, the reality we face is lack of man power which delays response time. This forces us to call on other departments for help," said Bright Fire Chief Kendall Eberhart.
Bright initially recieved mutual aid from Lawrenceburg, Miller-York, New Trenton and St. Leon.
"This still left us short handed in dealing with a structure fire and water operations.," Eberhart said.
It led Bright to also call Aurora, Miami Township, Whitewater and Harrison fire departments.
Crews fought the structure fire for more than fours. Nobody was hurt during the incident.
"Not only for the public, but for fire fighters safety, departments need to be properly staffed. We thank the community who brought food and water to the crews and continue to support us in serving the public," Eberhart added.
Most local departments are accepting volunteers to join. Visit a local fire station to get more information.
