(CANAAN, Ind.) — Canaan Community Academy (CCA) is being recognized as a Kindness Certified School.
This certification is awarded to schools that demonstrate a clear and consistent effort to integrate kindness into all aspects of school life, from the classroom to extracurricular activities, and even the way students engage with one another and the community at large.
Some initiatives at CCA include peer mentoring programs, community service projects, and school-wide events that promote inclusivity and respect.
“This achievement is a testament to the incredible efforts of our students, faculty, and staff, who work tirelessly to create an environment where kindness is valued, nurtured, and celebrated every day. We believe that by instilling these core values, we are not only shaping the leaders of tomorrow, but also building a community that supports and uplifts one another,” said CCA Principal Rhonda Pennington.
As part of the certification, CCA will continue to host regular activities and workshops focused on kindness, empathy, and emotional intelligence, ensuring that these principles remain at the heart of the school’s educational philosophy.
The school also plans to collaborate with local organizations to extend its kindness efforts beyond the classroom and into the broader community.
